Natural Hoofprints Horsemanship Practical Horsemanship for Horse and Rider An Individualized, Thoughtful Approach Sharing Principles.... Teaching thru Purpose

Teaching: A good teacher opens the eyes and mind of the student or ‘observer’ to see a difference and is able to capture the mind of that person.

Learning: A good “student” sees the differences and is able to see with an open mind and to “ Observe, Remember and Compare”.

For a teacher to be great, it takes a 50/50 interaction between the student and themselves. Sometimes some of us are not so great, but if, as a teacher you see slightest try or the smallest change under your influence, you have made a big difference.

Some teachers are better in different ways or better at some things than others, for example one person is good at capturing groups of peoples minds while another may be better at helping the individual.

Just because you are a good rider does not mean you may be a good teacher of horsemanship, but to be a good teacher, you do need to have a complete understanding of the horse.

Too often the expectations from the student of the teacher are higher than the expectations from the teacher of the student, not really a 50/50 relationship . Probably because the student is paying money for it. Bottom line ....people need to get better with their horses, for themselves and for the horse, and to understand that learning takes place in all forms, some of them not REAL pretty, but very REAListic.
